Covered Art: Yak Ballz Discusses the concept for Scifentology II

In our new feature ' Covered Art' we bring you the back story and concepts for some of our favorite cover art, as told to you by the artists and muscians themselves. Some names were changed to protect the innocent, but the stories and the crimes are real. This week; Yak Ballz discusses his inspriation for the cover of his newest Scifentology II.
When talking to Ewok One 5MH about the cover art for Scifentology II, he told me that we should come up with a concept for it; something that would tell a story. One night, sometime after we had spoken, I was flipping through the channels and I stopped, as usual, on a televised religious service (or glorified infomercial, as I like to think of them) by renowned televangelist, Peter Popoff. It always fascinates me how TV priests like Rev Popoff can attract and command such massive followings displayed by the masses in attendance at his gatherings. Peter Popoff is the best one to watch in my opinion for two reasons; One of which is that he makes millions of dollars by selling water on TV that he describes as “holy”. And the Second of which is, like many other cult leaders (i.e. Charles Manson, Jim Jones, etc.), he possesses the ability to get into people's heads in a way that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton can only dream of.
So I jumped on YouTube and typed in ‘Peter Popoff’ and, lo and behold, I came across this video of him ‘healing’ people afflicted with terminal illnesses and handicaps in which he is revealed as a fraud;
I immediately jumped up and emailed Ewok with a link to the video and he was so amped on it that he responded with a few more links that he found on his own. With that, Ewok had a direction to work with and subsequently illustrated the cover of Scifentology II. The cover is of a man, reminiscent of Peter Popoff, holding his hand over the head of a smaller crippled man who is standing up from his wheelchair, thinking he has been healed of his affliction. The caption on the crippled mans shirt reads "Got Faith?" But the story doesn’t end there. You must buy the record, turn it around, and open the packaging in order to get the full message through the illustrations and text. It was a perfect fit because the whole concept of the Scifentology series is to get people to wake up, pay attention, and invest their time and faith in something real in the music, as opposed to buying into false truths imposed by society and government.

That's a pretty dope concept...
Seeing that Popoff video is reminiscent of that cat in "There Will Be Blood," that Daniel Day Lewis deaded at the end.
