A new week, an Aesop Shoe

This Thursday, July 31st, marks the release of the new Aesop Rock adidas Originals sneaker from Upper Playground. The Stan Smith shoe is the third release in the four-part series that also includes designs from fine artists Herbert Baglione, David Choe and Sam Flores.

Aesop Rock explains the design concept behind his Stan Smith sneaker: “The faded green and gold colors have a strange eerie-meets-regal vibe that I liked when designing the art for last year's None Shall Pass album. I wanted to continue that color scheme, and keep it pretty simple. I didn’t want anything too intrusive. Basically I just wanted something that I’d rock, and my mother might even wear them.”

There are only 500 pairs available of this sneaker worldwide. Sizes range from men's size 4 to 13.5. To get your hands on the Aesop Rock adidas Originals sneaker, visit www.upperplayground.com or head to an Upper Playground retail store. The sneaker will go on sale online at 8 am PT on Thursday, July 31st.

Hi there.

We hope you're all gearing up for the last month of summer and all it's summer concerts. The Mighty Underdogs have been added to the bill for the Aesop tour in August-September, check it out, get your tickets, mark the date, you know the drill. Also Check Dizzee tonight in Denver or catch him on the 24th in Los Angeles.

In other Dizzee news, Dizzee talks everything from Raving to Love in last week's issue of The Resident. El writes another movie review. Someone found this guy, after ten years of looking, Waldo ain't got shit on him. And apparently they named a tropical storm 'Dolly', maybe FEMA will show up for this one.

Also, to the olympians this year, don't worry, China's got you covered:

A new week begins...

....and Dizzee's US tour is well underway. Tonight he took on Austin Texas and tomorrow he books it to Denver. So far so good, as the critics at the Chicago Pitchfork festival might tell you. Just ask our friend's over at Time out Chicago, Stereogum, and the Chicagoist. Be sure to check Dizzee's tour dates and catch the dirty rascal while you still can.

Other weekend happenings include;

-The announcement of a big Mighty Underdogs Tour, more on that tomorrow.

-El gets some religion.

-And Aesop gears up for his big round up US tour, before the recording of his new album, and announces his openers.

-Finally check out Yak Ballz and Aesop on an Amplive remix of The Tokyo Police club's 'Baskervilles'. - its worth every second of the loading time.

This week will bring you blog features from Despot, Yak Ballz, and Mike Tumbarello from Junk Science. Not to mention the regulars.

Long time no blog.

But hopefully, with things calming down around here, that will change. In the meantime, some advice:

-First and foremost Dizzee kicks off round two of his US tour today, starting here in New York at the Highline Ballroom. Check it out, or get your tickets for other dates on the tour here.

-Next up, Aesop Rock has got a big tour and a sneakerline with Adidas and Upperplaground, do your research either here, or on Pitchfork, Tour dates here.

Dear Jukies,

Hope all is well out there, wherever the hell there is. I'm back in NYC after touring the country with the homie Dizzee. It's been a strange month and I'm just now getting back in to the swing of things...

This summer is all about new music for me. First off, I am hard at work with the one and only Cage helping to complete his sophomore Jux album Depart from Me. I'm also putting together the debut solo album from the irreplaceable Camu Tao who, in case you weren't aware, sadly passed away earlier this summer. Luckily Camu has left in his absence some truly amazing music and you guys won't have to spend the rest of your lives wondering what an album from someone so talented might have sounded like.

In the meantime I have decided to make the mp3s of disc one of the WEAREALLGOINGTOBURNINHELLMEGGAMIXX2 (tour only limited edition double disc cds) available FOR FREE. You won't get the Eat My Garbage CD (disc 2), nor will you get the amazing original artwork by Travis Millard or the bragging rights of owning a cd that is going for 150 bucks a pop on EBAY. But to be honest i felt kind of bad not letting fans who weren't able to go to the shows hear this stuff.

Also, for those lucky 500 who bought the limited pressings I am offering to replace any of the cds that may have been blank. Unfortunately I have heard that a small portion were. All you have to do is send your blank cd to Def Jux
